How to build your personal brand



Here are 6 steps you can take to build your personal brand and represent WHAT you do + WHO you are.


Step 1โ  โ  ๐‘ถ๐’˜๐’ ๐’€๐’๐’–๐’“ ๐‘ฑ๐’๐’–๐’“๐’๐’†๐’š

The journey you've been on has brought you to where you are today. โ  โ  If we overlook it, we are overlooking the heart of WHY we do WHAT we do. โ  โ  Building a personal brand is about showing who you are, but when we build a brand, we need ๐’„๐’“๐’†๐’‚๐’•๐’† ๐’‚ ๐’‘๐’๐’‚๐’ to share certain elements of our journey that โ  โ  ๐Ÿ“Œ build connectionโ  ๐Ÿ“Œ build your authorityโ  ๐Ÿ“Œ build your brand voiceโ  โ

Step 2. ๐‘ช๐’“๐’†๐’‚๐’•๐’† ๐‘ช๐’๐’๐’๐’†๐’„๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’

Simply put-these are the small things you share to connect to your audience. โ  โ  This is ๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ for your personal growth. Want to get rid of comparisonitis? ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฑ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป.โ  โ  TRUTH? They may not remember what you did, but they WILL remember the associations connected to you. Building a personal brand is all about building connection, but how do you do that without being Goldilocks and sharing not enough, too much or everything? And where and how do you share?โ  โ โ

Step 3:โ  Pack a Personality Punch

Been quiet or under the radar? It's time to use your voice. ๐’€๐’๐’–๐’“ ๐’ƒ๐’“๐’‚๐’๐’… ๐’—๐’๐’Š๐’„๐’†โ .โ  โ  Finding and using your brand voice includes-โ  โ 

๐Ÿ“ข the way you write โ 

๐Ÿ“ข the way you speakโ 

๐Ÿ“ข the words you use or don't useโ 

๐Ÿ“ข your hand gesturesโ 

๐Ÿ“ข your demeanorโ 

๐Ÿ“ข your vocal tone and fluctuationโ  โ 

These are things we don't often think about in our personal life. But, when it comes to your personal brand, they take development and consideration to maintain consistency and give your audience an experience of who you are. โ  โ 


ACTION ITEM: For the next week, analyze your content. โ  What words do you find yourself using often? What tone do you take towards your content? Do these things truly mirror what you want your audience to experience from you or is it more of a persona? Do some thinking and readjust if needed!โ 



Step 4: ๐“ฅ๐“ฒ๐“ผ๐“พ๐“ช๐“ต ๐“˜๐“ถ๐“น๐“ช๐“ฌ๐“ฝโ  โ 

Creating Visual Impact is basically, your brand personality and brand voice displayed ๐•ง๐•š๐•ค๐•ฆ๐•’๐•๐•๐•ช. It's giving your audience a ๐•ง๐•š๐•ค๐•ฆ๐•’๐•๐•๐•ช experience of your brand. โ  This is the use of images, colors, fonts we use mirror our brand voice so people get a strong visual experience from us, too. This is ๐ต๐“‡๐’ถ๐“ƒ๐’น ๐‘…๐‘’๐’พ๐“ƒ๐’ป๐‘œ๐“‡๐’ธ๐‘’๐“‚๐‘’๐“ƒ๐“‰!โ  โ  โ 


ACTION ITEM: Do a visual audit of your social media. What images do you feel BEST represent your brand and why? Was there something in the colors or tone? The outfit or setting? What about it do you feel gives your audience a true experience of who you are?โ 



Step 5: Get a ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ด๐˜†.โ  โ 

Your social media should show

โ  โœ… WHAT you doโ 

โœ… HOW you do what you doโ  โ

Post 1: Introduce/reintroduce yourself to your audeince by sharing something about you that๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ.โ 

Post 2: Share your product, service or ideas in a way that ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€ not just sells.โ 

Post 3: Explain part of your unique process, framework, experience that speaks directly to your audiences pain or pleasure points. โ 



Step 6: ๐Œ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง ๐Œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฆโ  โ 

Planning helps us be strategic, not act on a whim.โ  โ  ๐‘ฐ๐’•'๐’” ๐’”๐’Š๐’Ž๐’‘๐’๐’†- we look towards the future and set goals, then create a backwards plan. And KEEP SHOWING UP.
